The following company is discontinuing its operations and, accordingly cannot write new business or renew existing contracts. With discontinuing status, however, companies remain obligated to service existing contracts and to settle claims under these contracts.

Primerica Life Insurance Company The insurance liabilities have been assumed by anaffiliated insurer, Primerica Life Insurance Company of Canada.	21 March 1994
Royal Reinsurance Company Limited The insurance liabilities have been assumed by an affiliated insurer, Royal Insurance Company of Canada	1 January 1994
The Sovereign Life Insurance Company The insurance liabilities have been assumed by The Standard Life Assurance Company and Seaboard Life Insurance Company under two transfer agreements. These transfers were part of the company's liquidation.	15 February 1994

Amalgamations:

Prudasco Assurance Company and General Accident Indemnity Company The amalgamated company will use the name, General Accident Indemnity Company. The licence of Prudasco Assurance Company has been cancelled.	16 February 1994
Sun Alliance Insurance Company and Royal Insurance Company of Canada The amalgamated company will use the name, Royal Insurance Company of Canada. The licence of Sun Alliance Insurance Company has been cancelled.	1 January 1994
