Changes to Licences - Second Quarter 1995, List of Ontario


As part of ongoing efforts to communicate matters of interest to the insurance industry, the Ontario Insurance Commission (OIC) is releasing the following information on changes to licences for the quarter ended June 30, 1995.

The changes are wide-ranging and may include announcements such as insurance companies with new licences, insurance company amalgamations, licensing cancellations, and licensing amendments.

    The amalgamated company will use the name The Mutual Life Assurance Company of Canada. The licence of The Prudential Life Assurance Company of England (Canada) has been cancelled.

  • Kansa General International Insurance Company Limited

    A winding-up order has been obtained from the Superior Court of Quebec and a liquidator has been appointed.

    The company transferred its policy liabilities to Old Republic Insurance Company of Canada.

  • The Orion Insurance Company PLC

    A winding-up order has been obtained from the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superintendent of Financial Institutions was appointed liquidator.

  • The Prudential Assurance Company Limited (Of England )
    The company transferred its policy liabilities to The Prudential Life Assurance Company of England (Canada).
